WINTER WONDERLAND!

it melts fast over here.
we had a big set of snow flurries this morning. its nice waking up to a blanket of white, until it turns to brown slush, and you have to go out and walk to work in it. if it snows for a couple more days, as is forecasted, i really want to go up to primrose hill and sled down it.
anyway. not much new going on here. my disturbing news is that i got my purse stolen from right under my nose at happy hour last week. first of all, anyone who knows me knows that i never wear purses, but the one day i decided to, i get it stolen! talk about a sign. GOD TO CATHERINE: ' purses really aren't your thing. dont' wear them.'
well i thought i had lost my wallet with cards, money, IPOD (that one was a gem...old but great), my mobile, and my house keys... not to mention the nice green purse, but when i went back to the bar the following day, they had found some leftovers in the boys toilets. so i got the purse, the cards (which i had already canceled) and my house keys back. funny though, when i knew it had been stolen, i decided to check the boys toilet myself, and i had someone else look too, but we found nothing. i wonder if this little purse stealing thing is an insider's job, because apparently it happens alot there! suspicious.
anyway, as its a week gone by now since it happened, i'm pretty much over it. i still am pining for my ipod though. and it sucks losing all the phone numbers i had gathered in london, not to mention the pretty little black phone i had. and now, although i used to love that purse, i just can't look at it the same..all i see are someone's dirty hands mauling it. my mom said that feeling of disgust happens to women sometimes when their houses get broken into; all of a sudden this safe haven you thought you had has just been breached. i can see why its more than just the missing goods that cause disturbance.
also got to watch the superbowl this weekend! it was nice watching the playoffs in london..going out to american sports bars and seeing all these american college kids. plus the bears were kicking ass in the playoffs! i would have like to seen a bears - patriots superbowl so maybe i could have won some of my dignity back from fergus (i lost the last bears pat bet), and it would have been great to see the pats get crushed, but alas not to be. and the superbowl itself..got off to such a great start and went downhill from there really. i feel asleep during the half time show (in all fairness, it was 2 am my time), and only watched bits of the second half. so sad, it would have been great to see the bears win.
and this guy wouldn't have had to change his name to peyton manning.
