the office

i don't know if this is amazing or disgusting, but i managed to watch the entire second season (well the 12 episodes that have aired so far) of the office (the US version) in one day. some of the episodes were so good, i even watched them twice. i watched the captain jack ship party episode three times. all in one day.

its just sooo good. all around, the humor is great, but i'm fairly certain that the character jim makes the show for me. his expressions are hilarious, and his delivery is flawless. if it were possible to fall in love with a tv character, i'm pretty sure he's my boy.

anyway, if you haven't watched it yet, or if you've only watched the british one, you should definitely watch it. thursdays, 8.30, i think..which works out perfectly because the oc has moved to 9.

also, the saddest news ever is that arrested development is being chopped from fox's lineup. they are condensing the last four episodes into a two hour season finale. wow, they just can't wait to get rid of this show. too bad its the funniest show ever! i hope some other network picks it up!

Dwight: I need to change my emergency contact information from Michael Scott.
Ryan: Okay, to what?
Dwight: Just put... THE ... HOSPITAL. contact number...just put 911.

seriously, how can you not love this face?

taking a break

so i've been sitting here now, for the past two hours, searching for and applying to jobs. real jobs. after school is over and done jobs. today's the first day i've actually sat down and updated my resume, spent some serious time searching for jobs, and actually filled out a few online applications.

i should have probably started this whole job thing earlier, but i've been putting it off for a while....i think because, to me, the idea of a job is so daunting. don't get me wrong, its not that actual "work" that i'm afraid of, although, the less work the better,...its more the idea of the permanency that comes with the job. compared to school, where your time spent there is of a finite amount, a job feels like something that you stay with for a long time, with no definite finish time. and that scares me, mostly because i'm unsure of where i want to work, and i'm afraid i'll pick the wrong city to work in, or i'll choose the wrong place to work and be miserable at work. my mom has been trying to reassure me that taking a job doesn't mean you stay there forever..that you actually can quit, and i guess i'm finally coming around to that point of view, but still, in the back of my mind, i'm afraid, and its making me extra cautious and hesitant when applying for jobs.

but hey, i can always turn down a job, right? and thats assuming i even get offered one. so i should get back to applying for them all!

but on a quick (other) note....
-yeaah illinois. dee brown is something magical (but i still like JJ the best...even if that means i lose your respect, i'm sticking with it.)
-USC should have won, but vince young is pretty crazy too.
-champps needs to serve nachos that actually come with some nachos, not just pure cheese.
-free bar at a club on new years really means get loaded before you come because the line will be so long for the booze, you'll sober up by the time you actually get another drink. but don't drink too much that you're done and gone before the new year rolls around....
