'this must remind you of home'
it's a very windy day here in london. VERY windy. and i can no longer keep track of the number of people who have remarked to me that all this wind must remind me of chicago. i know it can get windy in chicago, but i think these people are all under the misconception that the 'windy' city derives its title from the weather. silly english people.
anyway, yea, big storms...transportation services severely disrupted. i'm lucky i walk home from work because there are alot of people here worrying about how they are going to get home tonight.
notice the page update? the pretty picture at the top? eh? i'm trying to waste time in work, and this is my last resort. i've read all the news, all the blogs, all the superficial.com celebrity gossip...the usual time wasters; now its time to actually spruce up my own.
not much news to report from my last post. we started frisbee sessions again...oh how i miss playing in tournaments! i can't wait for the summer. also saw emily for lunch while she was in town for a few days; it was nice to get a glimpse of new york and an update on the columbia spattering.
on an unrelated note: some of my favorite spring blossoms are coming out here in places. i've seen a couple of cherry blossoms on my way to work, and daffodils in the flower stands. it makes me so happy, so hopeful....spring is coming! i can't wait for longer days, and warmer weather. when i went back to chicago for christmas, my mom thought i had gotten very pale, and its true! i never see daylight because the sun sets before i leave work! and the five minute walk to get lunch doesn't count...i may burn quickly in the sun, but the five minutes outside isn't going to make me tan.
