wow, its been a while since i last sat down to blog. and there's been so much activity to blog about, but i've probably forgotten most of it now.
anyway, done with work! and i am one happy girl. i will be sad to leave the site, to leave the people, but damn, i am so excited to sleep in. normally i'm up at 6.45 to get to work at half seven. serioulsy now, what morons start work at half seven? anyway, even on the weekends where i might get a bit of a sleep in, my body clock usually woke me up much earlier than i preferred. but now, i can readjust my sleeping schedule and not get up till like 11 every day. it will be beautiful.
last night was great though. i went out with the work crowd for dinner followed by drinks (all tabs picked up by one of the sub-contractors!) i had forgotten how good steak is. after dinner we went to another pub, the bleeding horse where we met up with even more people from work, and then on to another club. i dont remember ever being bought so many pints in my life. seriously, some of the guys from work were just throwing pints at each other...you barely had time to take a sip out of one before another was bought for you. i guess thats one of those things i love about ireland...work mates going out and just getting totally pissed (and most of them still had to work today..there'll be a nice smell of booze in the workplace now!) its actually kind of sad now that i wont see most of these people again.
in other news, i've also been playing ultimate over here. i was initially really surprised that people in ireland had even heard of ultimate, but lo-and-behold, they actually play it..really well too. they have a worlds team that is competing the worlds competition in finland at the first week of august. i so wish i could go with them..that would be amazing! in america, i would never be able to go to worlds....those club teams who go from the us and canada are so fucking good! anyway, i've been out a couple time with the frisbee kids, and they are great fun. it just goes to show my theory that ultimate people are the coolest is absolutely spot on. seriously, i dont think i've played ultimate with a group of people that i didnt adore. maybe its the comraderie you get from playing an underground sport, or maybe its just that people who are attracted to ultimate are more laid back or something, but it seems to me that visitors to other ultimate groups are always welcomed and embraced and always end up forming good social ties with them.
okay i'll stop blabbing for now because i'm not even making sense in my own mind anymore.
ps. happy birthday to all those crazy birthday people! and have a fantastic time out partying!
