so since i've come home, i've probably seen about four times as many movies than i saw all semester in new york. i guess that's what 10.25 dollar movie tickets will do for you.

ANYWAY, finally saw troy. it was good/entertaining, but not great. i'll tell you what was great, though; brad's ass. (how predictable, right?) but seriously, he is one gorgeous human being.

then i saw mean girls. funny, but nothing too special. the movie would have been quite good if they hadnt tried to push the whole "moral story where everybody learns their lesson" theme. they try too hard, and it just comes off as artificial. still, the movie was quirky funny--tina fey style, i guess.

also rented kill bill 1, and then saw kill bill 2. originally my theory was that everybody either LOVED or HATED this movie. but i just kinda liked it. parts of it i loved watching, but i found myself getting bored during some parts. i did love the way bill talked though. it was so methodical and rhythmical and so matter of fact.

then there was life as a house which i watched with my dad. i really liked this one. kevin kline is such a good actor ( i dont think the movie would have been much without him). his facial motions and gestures seem so effortlessly comical.

but seriously, the best movie i've seen in a long time i saw tonight...Good Bye Lenin. this movie was a german (sub-titled) film about an east german family. the mother, who was very socialist and a huge supporter of the DDR goes into a coma during the whole East/West reunification and the berlin wall coming down. but when she comes out, they dont want to shock her back into a coma, so they have to pretend that it never happened.. the son must recreate the disappearing east berlin world in a city where everything is becoming westernized within months of the reuinification. it was brilliant.

and now, shawshank redemption is on tv! yaay movies!
