i love ipods, but they do not love me

i think ipods are now set on causing me torment.

first of all, a couple months ago, my 4-year old trusty 3rd generation ipod was taken from me when my purse was swiped from under my nose. that ipod was a gem; never any problems except for a short batterty life, which was sorted with a replacement battery christmas present. those lucky bastards, i hope they're enjoying the long battery life.

well, i had an appropriate mourning period, and it took me very little time to realise i cannot live with some sort of music device. i can barely walk to work without my ipod, and actually exercising is impossible. so i finally decided on buying a used, older generation ipod, because i like them better (easier to hold, i think). but when my cheap used ipod arrived from ebay, of course, the hard drive was an absolute mess. so, i went about replacing that, which was a nightmare that involved ordering of the wrong drive (false adverstising on the website!), shipping of the wrong drive, and weeks later, a hard drive that finally fit and worked! woohoo.

and now, for the newest segment in my ipod drama, i've gone and lost my ipod. only four weeks after i finally replaced it! damn.
