"aren't you a little late to your tournament?"
thanks, goose, for the wake-up call.
apparently, i'll be needing three alarms in the future.
sectionals was awesome this weekend. it was a fun tournament...our team played quite well, and after having been seeded fourth (only three teams go to regionals) and questioning our ability to make it to regionals, it felt great to pretty much dominate all of our competition, well all except rutgers.
anyway, having slept 10 hours last night, i was still exhausted today, both physically and mentally. my body felt like a brick, but i do get, and maybe this is kind of perverse, some kind of secret satisfaction from that body exhaustion..like you actually did something, worked hard to become that exhausted. and my mind was certainly gone in class today; i was just staring blankly at the computer screen and my professor after explaining a process for 20 minutes was like, "uh catherine, are you getting this? you look kind of confused, or dead."
and the last last last thing i wanted to do today was practice. the idea of running around after a disc again was killing me all day. but ofcourse, practice was awesome, and i felt great after it. its a strange thing about practice, but no matter how tired/cranky/upset i am going to practice (all things that would make you want to skip it), i always feel 10 times better after it. practice just might solve all problems.
and the ABSOLUTE BEST THING about my day today was a special text message i got. hehe. it was so great that i actually had to stop walking because i was laughing so hard. thanks mara. that was amazing. and the answer is, ofcourse, YES..if i were a frisbee, that is exactly what i would do.
and thanks eric for the book suggestions. i've actually read a bunch of those nick hornby books, and they are great. there's also that movie, fever pitch, which i'm pretty sure is based off of his book, even though they changed the sport from soccer to baseball. boooo. ALSO, i would like to announce to the world that it has been officially decided by a best 3 out of 5 points raquetball showdown that i am GOOD and eric is EVIL. end of story.
okay, crazy week of work ahead. gotta get started on that.
